Logan was a very handsome male orange belton English Setter who was whelped at
Cobblestone English Setters in Carmichael California on June 12, 2005.
Logan was co-owned with his breeder Mari M. Anderson.
Thank you Mari for trusting me with this special boy.
Logan achieved his AKC Champion title very quickly
winning back to back four point majors along the way.
He had a gorgeous head, beautiful shoulder layback, a lovely topline, and a smooth floating gait.
Logan's personality was all English Setter. He was very sweet, gentle, and loving.
Logan received his Junior Hunter title in four straight passes with scores of 8s, 9s, & 10s.
Logan retired from the show ring in 2011
but was always handled exclusively by Michael McGuire of
McGuire Handling
during his Specials career.
Logan was a Top Ten English Setter for 2009, 2010, & 2011
as listed in The Canine Chronicle
Unfortunately Logan left me way too soon on December 18, 2014 at the young age of just 9 1/2 years.
He was diagnosed with hymangiosarcoma in mid November of 2014
and was sent peacefully on to the Rainbow Bridge just a month later.
I did not have enough time with this special boy
but he lives on forever in the memories I have of the wonderful times we spent together
and in the huge piece of love he left in my heart!

Sunday, 10/24/2009, was a very thrilling day here at Heather Glen when Logan won another Best of Breed at the Sacramento Dog Fanciers Association, Inc., Gold Country English Setter Fanciers supported entry, show under Judge Mrs. Jean Fournier and then went on to a Sporting Group Three placement also under Judge Mrs. Jean Fournier. This was Logan's first group placement with very limited showing as a special. As always Logan was professionally presented in both the Breed and Group rings by Michael McGuire.

We are off to a great start in 2010 with Logan winning numerous Best of Breeds and Best Opposites including back to back Best Opposites at the Scottsdale Dog Fanciers Association shows held in Scottsdale, AZ on March 5 & 6 against some very tough competition. The March 5th show was an English Setter Club of Phoenix supported entry. |
On Thursday, 04/08/2010 Logan recieved his second Sporting Group placement taking a Group Four at the Yosemite Kennel Club show in Merced, CA. under Judge Mrs. Donna J. Buxton who was also the Breed judge. Logan was once again expertly presented in the Breed and Group rings by Michael McGuire.

At the Chief Solano Kennel Club shows on April 24 & 25, 2010 Logan won back to back Group placements by going Group Four under judge Mrs. Martha M. Olmos-Ollivier and Group Two under judge Mr. Lowell K. Davis. Breed judges were Mr. Lowell K. Davis on April 24 & Dr. Alvin W. Krause on April 25. As always Logan was beautifully presented in the Breed and Group rings by Michael McGuire.

On Friday, May 14, 2010 Logan was Best of Breed at both the morning and afternoon Gold Country English Setter Fanciers Specialties held in Woodland, CA. The morning judge was Mrs. Christina Hubbell and the afternoon judge was Mrs. Nancy A. Byrd. Logan was professionally presented to both judges by his best friend and wonderful handler Michael McGuire. Needless to say it was a "once in a lifetime day" for all!!

On Sunday, 05/23/2010 Logan recieved his fifth Sporting Group placement by taking a Group Four at the Coyote Hills Kennel Club show in Vallejo, CA. under Judge Mr. Michel Chaloux. Breed Judge was Mr. Richard William Powell. As always Logan was expertly presented in the Breed and Group rings by Michael McGuire.

Thursday, 06/17/2009, Logan won his sixth Sporting Group placement by taking a Group Three at the Shasta Kennel Club show held in Gridley, CA. under Judge Mrs. Gloria Geringer. Mrs. Geringer judged both the Breed and the Group. As always Logan was professionally presented in both the Breed and Group rings by Michael McGuire.

Friday June 25, 2010 was another very exciting day for Heather Glen. Logan was Best of Breed at the Willamette English Setter Fanciers Specialty held in Canby, Oregon under Judge Robert Shreve. Logan was once again expertly handled by Michael McGuire.
